Stop doing this if you’re an Arthritis sufferer!!



How’s your arthritis pain been lately?

Have you been experiencing a spike in pain lately?

Are there times you notice more pain? For example, do you notice a spike with a change of weather?

Yes, you do?

And what do you do when you experience pain?

Is it a case of popping pills to numb the pain?

Do you do that for a few days until the pain goes?

Yes?

And then you feel great for a day or two. So great, you’re skipping and doing cartwheels.

And then…

 

 

 

It’s back!!

 

 

 

The pain is back in full force.

You can’t move, let alone try and do a cartwheel!

 

So what do you do to get that skipping and cartwheel feeling again?

Well, you go through the whole cycle again.

Pain strikes.

Pop pain killers for a few days.

Pain goes.

Pain back again.

 

Can you see the issue in the four lines above?

There’s a word that keeps appearing and you’re focusing on it.

 

Can you spot the word?

 

You got it?

 

Well, you may have spotted the word pain.

 

Us arthritis sufferers focus on the word pain.

 

And oh boy.

I get it!

After I had my daughter in 2017 I experienced a lot of back and hip pain and was later told it was due to arthritis in my hip.

The pain was excruciating!!!

And when you’re suffering like that, the only word you can focus on is pain.

You just want rid of it. And you want rid of it fast, don’t you?

We’ve got things to do, haven’t we?

We ain’t got time for damn arthritis.

We’ve got work to do!

Families to sort out!

Arthritis, you’re not needed right now, we’ve got things to do!!!

So in order to get our things done, we pop the pain killers. We need to get rid of the pain. And we need to get rid of it fast!

 

Well, there’s the issue.

 

 

Instead of getting rid of it fast, we need to get rid of the pain slow!

Now, that doesn’t mean not popping a pain killer when needed!

Listen, I get it!! If you need pain relief, then you need it!

But in the background, you need to work on getting rid of the pain slowly!

And the way we get rid of it slow is by looking at a different word.

That word is…

 

 

Inflammation!!!

We can get rid of/or reduce the pain by looking at inflammation instead of pain. And we can get rid of it slowly by focusing on movement, diet, vitamins and herbs!

And as time goes by I’ll be talking about things you can do to reduce inflammation.

But until then,  there’s something you can start doing now (if you’re not doing it already)!!

And that something is green leafy vegetables.

Start upping your leafy greens.

Leafy greens like cabbage, kale, spinach. broccoli and bok choi. These are inflammation ninjas as they contain substances and vitamins that can fight and block the process that causes inflammation.

So until we meet again, go get your greens!!

Add them to your meals and juice them, however possible get them in your body!!
